Barbera is a red Italian wine grape variety that is the third most-planted red grape in Italy – after only Sangiovese and Montepulciano. Barbera produces wines with deep color, low tannins and high levels of acidity. Michele Chiarlo sources grapes from strictly selected Barbera vineyards in the southern area of the Asti province. Temperature controlled maceration and fermentation on the skins for ten days in stainless steel tanks yields the dark, rich color that is typical of great Barberas.
This wine is aged in large French oak casks for 8 months before release. This is a medium-bodied, robust red wine with a garnet color and lots of personality. Fragrant aromas of rich, ripe black fruit, violets and earth are followed by enticing flavors of blackberry, cassis and spice.During checkout, please specify how you'd like to receive your order: (1) pickup at our office in downtown Delray Beach, FL OR (2) shipping via UPS Ground.
