Before 1968, making a non-vintage rosé champagne was virtually unthinkable but Bernard de Nonancourt, Chairman & CEO of Laurent-Perrier, was just the man to put it on the map! In 1968, he launched the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut in an elegant bottle inspired by those made in the time of French King Henri IV.
Skin contact maceration technique, also known as saignée, is used for this wine’s production which is very rare. On the nose, this wine exhibits aromas of fresh, ripe strawberry, raspberry and black currant. Fruit dominates the palate which is lively and well-rounded with great structure, freshness and a long, lingering finish. This wine pairs wonderfully with foie gras topped with red currants, or decadent, salty slices of pata negra ham, as well as roasted chicken with mushrooms.
