Peumo is located in the western portion of the Cachapoal Province in Chile’s Central Valley, the prime wine growing region of the country. This region receives just enough cool maritime influence to create a warm climate ideal for the area’s renowned, full-bodied, fruit-forward Carmenere.
The Concha y Toro Marques de Casa Concha Carmenere is 100% Carmenere that has spent 18 months in French oak barrels. It is dark, deep ruby in color with a classic Peumo Carmenere profile of intense dark plums, black currants, and dark chocolate. It has a firm tannin structure with a crisp bite of acidity. This wine pairs best with flavorful dishes included roasted meats such as lamb, venison or beef.
