Paul Cluver is a family-owned, family-run winery located in the cool-climate Elgin Valley in South Africa, approximately 45 miles southeast of Cape Town. The property has been owned by the Cluver family since 1896, and they are widely recognized as pioneers in this region with a focus on producing elegant wines which are expressive of their “terroir”. Four of the five Cluver siblings are currently involved in the business, taking over the reins from parents Paul and Songvei. Winemaker Andries Burger has been instrumental in producing these wines which have received much critical acclaim.
The color is a bright, crystalline yellow with hints of green. The nose is clean and fresh with delicate notes of citrus, elderflower, and white peach. These flavors follow through on the palate which has a creamy mid-palate, the result of extended lees contact, mouth watering acidity, and delightful finish.
