The 2011 Rosso di Casanova di Neri is born from the grapes of the "Le Cetine" vineyards to the south of Montalcino. It is a blend of 95% Sangiovese Grosso and 5% Colorino grapes. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 42 months and then spends another 6 months in bottle.
The end result is a wine with intense ruby red color and aromas of wild cherry, violets and red fruits. On the palate flavors of dark cherries, plum and spice are bright and persistent with a lengthy finish. This wine pairs nicely with Tuscan cold cuts, pasta with tomato sauce, and roasted white meats.
