Banfi Vermentino "La Pettegola," IGT Toscana, Italy

This delightfully refreshing white wine makes an excellent alternative for those who are currently stuck in a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc rut. Vermentino is an Italian white grape variety generally found in the wines of Sardinia and Liguria. 2013 is the first vintage of this wine from Banfi which is made from 100% Vermentino harvested from coastal Tuscany. The wine is fermented entirely in stainless steel, which preserves its fresh floral and fruity aromas and flavors that embody the essence of Summer. The name "La Pettegola" refers to the local birds in the region and right down to the packaging this wine makes an excellent choice to enjoy for the Fourth and all Summer long.
